Michael Lumb considered independent movement to join IPL

Michael Lumb, who was banned from playing in the IPL for Nottinghamshire, considered going freelance to play in the Twenty20 event.

"I thought about going freelance, but for me it is right now," he told Cricinfo. "I'm enjoying my cricket at the moment and enjoying being in Notts, with this group, and I want this group to succeed, so for me it is not really an option. But I can see other players look at him."


The batter of 33 years old, who played in England T20 side in India and New Zealand in the winter, predicted future conflict between the players who wanted to join the IPL and clubs that were willing to keep at home.
